Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s Latest Titanic Ezine just published
Here’s a sneak preview of the Northern Irelands Tourist Board’s Titanic E-Zine publication. Packed full of useful insights to keep you abreast of what’s up and coming for all things Titanic in Belfast, the home of Titanic.
Welcome to this edition of the Titanic: Built in Belfast ezine, our way of updating you all about the work going on to develop and promote Belfast as the home of Titanic. Speaking at NITB’s Meet the Buyer event, Lord Mayor Naomi Long reminded us of the need to extend a big Hello and Welcome to our visitors – just like the iconic H&W cranes! The Titanic Signature Building is a key part of the Titanic Signature Project, and as we approach the first anniversary of construction work beginning on site, the building is really taking shape and is on course for its planned opening in 2012.
Belfast will be taking centre stage in 2012. The Northern Ireland Tourist Board is working with Belfast City Council, Cultural Olympiad and the Arts Council, amongst others, to finalise a Titanic 2012 marketing and events strategy and action plan. This is being developed within a wider NI 2012 programme of events and activities. It’s going to be a big year for Northern Ireland with some historic dates to celebrate and centenaries to commemorate including the 400th anniversary of the Plantation, the 50th anniversary of the Belfast Festival at Queens and of course, the centenary of the Titanic’s maiden voyage.
