A Gingerly Start but progressing well - RMS Titanic Expedition live!
From RMS Titanic Facebook page. ‘After some brief repairs, Ginger headed back into the water and traveled down to the Titanic wreck site. Both AUVs are at their assigned depths, performing their tasks, and the sensors appear to be gathering data. The team is pleased and is planning to retrieve them in the early morning hours.’
A further update was posted at approximately 0700 GMT on the 27th August reporting ‘The AUVs are expected to return before breakfast. On an evening filled with anticipation, one can’t help but stare out at the moon and wonder. What are you looking forward to seeing the most?’ This is a great question indeed. There’s so much data being collected and collated at present which is by far the most exciting element of this expedition. What indeed will we see that is new, noteworthy and startling from the Ocean’s floor. What will be the visual state of Titanic’s hull and other celebrated images from the resting place of the world’s most iconic vessel. We’ll pour through the stories and information and try and come back with some of the key moments from the experience to help us all get a better handle on the quality and quantity of research carried out during this marine marvel. For now, please enjoy the show!
