The early Mondays in January are always the worst. Like the first Monday in September, it’s the day when millions of people simultaneously say farewell to holidays and lie-ins, and head back to a new term of work or school or college. But the start of the year is also a good time to take stock. So I had the bright idea of using the first Monday of January every year to take a little snapshot of life in the Titanic Quarter – so that, as the years go by, the progress which can feel so slow on a daily basis can be seen in its proper perspective.

So I set off bright and early on Monday morning, video camera in hand, to see what I could find. And I had a great day! I met some great people, walked the streets, watched the building work, interviewed some movers and shakers, and generally came away feeling This Will Work…
