25 years on from her re-discovery but still more remarkable findings to come about RMS Titanic
It’s 25 years to the day since the discovery of RMS Titanic and the subsequent near mythological style of those first images. 25 years on and technology is enhancing the detail, data and understanding of the story of Titanic. What further discoveries will come as we approach the 100th Anniversary of her loss?
Watching the interview with Bill Lange it’s hard not to get excited about how amazing the discovery of RMS Titanic was 25 years ago. You can only imagine what it must have been like to start to come across small objects and debris from the sunken vessel after so much effort and time had already been spent. A relief and a sense of achievement would soon be overtaken with a relentless drive and ambition to map and find as much detail as possible with the hardware available of that time. Now, 25 years on, it will be great to see all of the discoveries and information from phase 1 when it becomes more readily available and fingers crossed for weather patterns to improve quickly to assist in getting the team back to the wrecksite and back to sharing such a vast and rich pool of imagery and understanding.
